Mr. Atwater founded Prime Group in 1989. Mr. Atwater is a Co-Founding Partner of Prime Finance and Chairman of the Short and Long Duration Investment Committees. Mr. Atwater has been involved with all forms of property ownership, management and financing. A graduate of Brown University and Stanford Business School, he has served on a variety of for-profit and non-profit boards, including Montgomery Street Income Securities, Lone Mountain School for Children, The Hamlin School, The California Academy of Sciences (Board Chair 2010-2014), the Corporation of Brown University and the Policy Advisory Board of the Fisher Center for Real Estate and Urban Economics, UC Berkeley.
Ms. Wiard is responsible for Prime’s capital transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and financings within the portfolio. Prior to joining Prime Group, she was at Eastdil Secured for 14 years where she executed the sale, financing and recapitalization of over $8B of assets. Subsequently, she led WeWork’s Real Estate Advisory team for the West region of North America. Kara is an active member of Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) and previously served as Vice Chair of the NMHC’s Emerging Leaders Committee. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts from Johns Hopkins University.
As Chief Asset and Investment Officer of Prime Residential, Mr. Madison is responsible for maximizing the value of Prime Residential’s multifamily portfolio through new acquisitions and reinvestment in the existing portfolio. This includes developing and implementing a strategy for each asset, and making capital allocation decisions at the asset and portfolio level. Prior to joining Prime Residential in 2008, he worked as an Associate at Hall Capital Partners, an investment advisor to families, foundations and endowments. In this role he sourced and researched private investment managers in real estate, energy and other hard asset sectors. Mr. Madison graduated from Brown University with an A.B. in Engineering, is a CFA charter holder and serves as a trustee of Lick-Wilmerding High School.
Mr. James is the Co-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Prime Group. He is also a Co-Founding Partner of Prime Finance, head of Multifamily Credit and a member of the Short and Long Duration Investment Committees. He joined Prime Group in 1992 and has been involved with all forms of property ownership, management, financing and development. A graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Business School, Mr. James also attended the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He serves on the California Apartment Association Leadership Council and is the past chairman of the California Housing Council.
Mr. Bloom is a Principal and Chief Operating Officer of Prime Residential. Mr. Bloom joined Prime in 2007 and has over 25 years of experience. He is responsible for all property operations oversight for the Prime Residential properties as well as our property due diligence process for new acquisitions. He also has additional oversight of Prime Residential’s Central Services Departments consisting of Accounting, Human Resources, Business Technology and Capital, as well as an active member of the Executive Committee for the company. Mr. Bloom is active with multiple Western US Apartment Associations and currently on the Executive Forum for the NAA.
Mr. Scroggin is a Senior Vice President for Prime Residential. Mr. Scroggin joined Prime in 2001 and oversees the Park La Brea property operations directly and has been in the multi-family business for over 25 years. Mr. Scroggins participates in property due diligence process for the company as well as sits on the Executive Committee. He is a CPM and is currently President of the California Apartment Association Los Angeles., and is an active member of the Institute of Real Estate Management and the Apartment Association for Greater Los Angeles.
In his role as a Principal for Prime Group, Mr. Frieman leads the accounting, investor relations and administrative teams for both Prime Residential and Prime Finance. He also serves as the Chief Compliance Officer for both Prime Finance and Prime Residential. Mr. Frieman joined Prime Group in 2005 and has been involved in all facets of real estate investment, finance and administration including leadership roles in over $5 billion of real estate transactions. Prior to that, he was an advisor to distressed businesses, overseeing numerous restructurings and liquidations. Earlier in his career, Mr. Frieman practiced corporate law with Latham & Watkins and served as the General Counsel for a start-up technology company. Mr. Frieman graduated with honors from University of California at Berkeley and Harvard Law School.
Mr. Frieman leads Prime Finance’s accounting, investor relations and administrative team and is a Principal of Prime Group. He also serves as the Chief Compliance Officer for both Prime Finance and Prime Residential. Mr. Frieman joined Prime Group in 2005 and has been involved in all facets of real estate investment, finance and administration including leadership roles in over $5 billion of real estate transactions. Ms. Castro is a Regional Vice President for Prime Residential. She joined Prime in 2005 and has direct responsibility of the Nevada and Northern California regions with multiple direct reports and has over 20 years of multi-family operations experience. Ms. Castro works out of the Las Vegas Regional Office and is also the Budget Administrator for the residential business; she works closely with the Asset Management Team on ancillary contractual business opportunities for the portfolio. Ms. Castro also sits on the NAAEI Board of Directors since 2013 on behalf of Prime Residential.
Ms. Larson is a Regional Vice President for Prime Residential. She joined Prime in 2005 and has 25 years of multi-family experience and oversees the Northwest Regional Office located in Portland Oregon. Rachel has direct responsibility of the Oregon and Washington markets with multiple direct reports. She is also in charge of the Customer Experience for Prime Residential and interacts closely with each onsite operations associate as well as with each Prime Central Services support department leader to ensure the needs of our customers are being met consistently.
Mr. Ortiz is a Regional Vice President for Prime Residential. He joined Prime in 2007 and has over 20 years experience in multi-family operations. He has oversight of the Southern California Regional Office located in Oceanside, California. Mr. Ortiz has direct responsibility of San Diego, Oceanside, Orange County, greater Los Angeles County (excluding Park La Brea) and Ventura/Oxnard, with multiple direct reports. He also has direct oversight of the Social Media Department and chairs the collections process for the residential portfolio business.
Mr. Walter is a Regional Vice President for Prime Residential. He joined Prime in 2007 and oversees the Washington region. Mr. Walter has over 20 years of multi-family operations experience.
Mr. Pan is an associate with Prime Residential. He joined Prime in 2011 and is responsible for all aspects of Prime Residential’s debt portfolio. He is also a part of the Asset Management team and in that role he works with Operations to maximize cash flow. Mr. Pan graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley.
Ms. Daissy Saito is an Associate for Prime Residential. She joined Prime in 2008. Her responsibilities include overseeing revenue management for the portfolio and strategizing how to maximize rates. She also works with the operating team for the Bay Area and Park La Brea to maximize cash flow and streamline operations. Daissy graduated from University of California, Santa Cruz, with a B.A in Mathematics and is a CFA charter holder.
Mr. Fisch is an Analyst on the Asset Management team. He joined Prime Residential in 2018 and works with Operations on optimizing cash flow and reducing risk in the portfolio. James holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government with a Minor in Sociology from Dartmouth College. Mr. Fisch’s professional experience includes work in Real Estate, Investment Banking, and Music Rights Management
Ms. Grant is a Data Analyst with Prime Residential. She joined Prime Residential in 2019 and is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and communicating data findings within the Asset Management team. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Evergreen State College and a Master of Science in Business Analytics from Santa Clara University.
Mr. Yu is an Associate with Prime Residential. He joined Prime Residential in 2016 and focuses on all aspects of sourcing new multifamily investment opportunities as well as working on the disposition of existing assets. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Geosciences with a Minor in Mathematics from Hamilton College and a Master of Science in Subsurface Geosciences from Rice University.
Ms. Resis is an Analyst on the Prime Residential Acquisitions team. She joined Prime in 2018 and focuses on sourcing new multifamily investment opportunities. Prior to joining Prime, Ms. Resis worked at 643 Capital Management and at Intel. Ms. Resis graduated from the University of Michigan with high distinction with a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish.
Mr. Sutton is Prime Group’s Counsel and Deputy Chief Compliance Officer. He is responsible for providing legal support to various Prime Group teams, as well as assisting the Chief Compliance Officer in designing and maintaining Prime Group’s compliance program. Prior to joining Prime Group, Mr. Sutton practiced corporate law at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP where he counseled private equity sponsors in fund formation and SEC registration and compliance matters. Mr. Sutton graduated from UCLA with honors and the UC Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall) and is a member of the State Bar of California.
Ms. Kimyacioglu is Counsel and VP of Risk Management. She assesses and advises on all aspects of operational risk management, and also oversees litigation management. Ms. Kimyacioglu joined Prime Residential after practicing for ten years at Latham and Watkins LLP, as a litigator, having led several teams and participated in major trials. She graduated from UC San Diego and received her law degree from Santa Clara University, School of law, cum laude. She is a member of the California State Bar.
Mr. Pfaffinger is VP of Business Technology for Prime Group, having joined the firm in 2007. Prior to joining Prime Group, Mr. Pfaffinger led several IT departments in the high-tech engineering and manufacturing sectors. Mr. Pfaffinger has over 25 years of IT experience, having graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and an MBA from Pepperdine University. Mr. Pfaffinger also holds a degree from the Japanese Language Institute Sophia University, Tokyo, Japan.
Mr. Leonard is the Senior Controller for Prime Finance and Prime Group. He oversees ownership accounting, tax, and treasury functions for over $3.5 billion of assets. Prior to joining Prime Group in 2004 as Senior Controller, Dan was in charge of the U.S. accounting for Kumagi Gumi and Kabuto International, two large Japanese development companies. Spending approximately 10 years with each company, his experience includes the acquisition, finance, development, management, construction, operation, and sale of real estate. Dan is a graduate of the University of San Diego.
Mr. McNicoll is the Controller for Prime Residential. He oversees the operations accounting function for
a portfolio of multi-family housing assets located in California, Oregon, Washington and Nevada.
Prior to joining Prime Residential in 2009 as Controller, Joe spent 4 years in public accounting with an
emphasis in auditing and taxation before earning his CPA certificate, CMA certificate and California Real
Estate Brokers License. His industry experience included 5 years as Finance Manager for Technicolor and
eleven years as Controller for Mobile Storage Group. Joe’s experience includes accounting, auditing,
finance, taxation, budgeting, forecasting, management, construction, operation, acquisition and sale of
real estate. Joe is a graduate of California State University at Northridge.
Ms. Walter leads Prime Group’s tax function, having served and advised privately held businesses and their stakeholders for over ten years. Prior to joining Prime, Ms. Walter was most recently with a Private Investment Company and Family Office. She began her career in Public Accounting. Ms. Walter graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History from Dartmouth College. She is a Certified Public Accountant in California.
Ms. Huang is an accounting manager of Prime Residential (SF Office). She joined Prime Group in 2012 and has been involved in financial reporting, tax and other ownership accounting functions. Prior to that, she worked in Novogradac & Company LLP as an accountant for four years. She received a master’s degree in accounting from San Francisco State University and is licensed as a certified public accountant in California.
Ms. Tran is the senior accountant of Prime Residential (SF Office). She joined Prime Group in 2018. She involves in preparing month-end and quarter end financial packages for ownership entities, performing complex multiple entity allocation journal entries, G/L analysis, bank reconciliations and preparation for audits. Prior to joining Prime Group, Stella worked as an accountant at a public accounting firm for 8 years. Stella received her Bachelor of Science in Finance from California State University, Northridge and Master of Science in Information System from Santa Clara University.
Ms. Marchesani is the Investor Relations Coordinator for Prime Group and is based in the San Francisco office. Prior to joining Prime in 2006, Cynthia handled operational and administrative duties for a project team at The Nature Conservancy – California. Cynthia holds a B.A. in Government from Oberlin College.
Mr. Destiche is an Investor Relations Coordinator for Prime Group. Prior to joining Prime Group in 2018, he worked at 643 Capital Management on the Operations team coordinating the acquisitions of residential properties. Mr. Destiche holds a B.A. from San Francisco State University.
